The brand is based on the design philosophy of "L-finesse," which is a combination of "leading edge" and "finesse," meaning human sensitivity and craftsmanship.
Lexus Koishikawa which opened in 2005 is the only company in Japan whose parent company is not a Toyota brand, but a joint venture between the Kokusai Group and Toyota Motor Corporation.
